HSE has today launched a new training course helping those
working to realise hydrogen's potential as a low carbon...
The workshop, to be held at HSE's Science and Research Centre in Buxton, will provide a forum for discussing challenges and identifying opportunities for shared research to address them. The basis on which this research can be undertaken will be a key outcome of the meeting.

For over 20 years HSE has been researching the safety of
both gaseous and liquid hydrogen and through our Research and
Consultancy services, we advise government and industry on how to
manage hydrogen risk safely.
HSE, through its Research and Consultancy services, will join the PLA and other partners including OS Energy, University of Strathclyde, University of Kent, ORE Catapult, University of Birmingham and Newcastle Marine Services, in a two year project comprising of six work packages covering aspects such as researching energy diversity, trialling hydrogen power generation for vessels based at the PLA's Denton Wharf, establishing the business case for back hauling hydrogen into central London, optimising ship design and understanding health & safety requirements.

and liquid hydrogen is helping the Aerospace Technology Institute
(ATI) assess the risks and safety implications of using hydrogen as
part of its FlyZero programme.
