The Manual Handling Assessment Charts (MAC) is a tool to help users identify high-risk workplace manual handling activities to manage the risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs).

HSE has produced an online version of the MAC tool, the MSD Online Assessment Tool, to simplify the process of completing each assessment.

The HSE MSD Online Assessment Tool's step by step approach and automated reporting removes the need to populate and interpret the results manually - saving your assessors time and effort.

HSE Stress Indicator Tool (SIT)

Manage Work-related Stress with HSE's New Stress Indicator Tool

HSE's Stress Indicator Tool (SIT) measures the attitudes and perceptions of your employees towards work-related stress.

Complementing HSE's Management Standards for Stress approach, the tool features a survey of thirty-five questions that ask about six key areas of work that, if not managed properly, are known to be potential causes of workplace stress.

Quadvent 2 Annual Licence

Quadvent 2 is a suite of mathematical models that can be used for Hazardous Area Classification to help comply with the Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations (DSEAR). It provides realistic estimates of flammable gas cloud volume and zoning distance for a range of flammable gases and release conditions.

Welding Fume Reference Material

HSL Welding Fume Reference Materials MSWF-1 and HSL SSWF-1 have been developed to assist analysts in assessing the performance of the digestion procedures they employ in their laboratories when undertaking welding fume analysis.

Respirable Crystalline Silica Reference Material

HSL's Respirable Crystalline Silica (Quartz) Reference Material has been developed with a particle size range in the respirable fraction to be appropriate for the direct on-air-sample analysis approach outlined in the HSE Method for the Determination of Hazardous Substances (MDHS) 101Crystalline silica in airborne respirable dusts.

Sampling Kits and Analysis

Welcome to HSE's online ordering system for biological monitoring sample kits and analysis. On completion of your online order, the relevant sample kits, packaging and paperwork will be sent to you - simply collect the samples and return to HSE for analysis. Please note: the name and address used in this system will be used as the delivery address for kits and result reports. The requestor is responsible for obtaining informed consent from workers and for communicating the results, observing the personal data nature of those results.

Please note that the online ordering system is currently designed such that all samples ordered must be returned for analysis in a single batch. To order kits to be sent back in multiple batches, please email registration.sample@hse.gov.uk.
