Introduction

This workshop will provide an introduction and overview of ecotoxicological higher tier risk assessment in GB/NI, along with in-depth discussion and practical exercises on refinement options, whilst also covering the risk assessment approach for combined active substance formulations.

The workshop will be delivered over 3 half day sessions. It will include a mixture of presentations and practical workshops given by HSE experts directly involved in dossier evaluation.

The course will cover:

  • Higher tier risk assessment for the following:

-   Birds and mammals
-   Aquatic organisms
-   Bees
-   Non-target arthropods
-   Soil organisms and non-target terrestrial plants

  • Risk assessment for combined active substance formulations for the following:

- Birds and mammals
- Aquatic 
- Other groups

Please note, this workshop will not address the new EFSA bird and mammal or bee guidance documents, nor will it cover first tier risk assessments.

Who should attend?

Those who already carry out ecotoxicological risk assessments (in relation to the regulation concerning the placing of plant protection products on the market, Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009) and who would like more information on higher tier risk assessments and refinement options.

Live online course information

All you will need is an internet-connected computer, laptop or tablet, plus a webcam and microphone. We do not recommend using a smartphone. Before you book, please check that you meet the Zoom System Requirements and run a diagnostic test to ensure the software is compatible with your firewall settings. If this does not work, try adjusting your settings or contact your IT department about permitting the website.
