Safe Net Zero 2023 - Hydrogen

21 March 2023 - 22 March 2023

Safe Net Zero 2023 Banner

The UK is rapidly progressing some of the world's most innovative hydrogen projects, as part of the energy mix it requires to meet 2050's net zero target.

The recently published Energy Security Strategy reaffirms the UK's commitment to hydrogen: aiming to generate up to 10GW of low carbon hydrogen production capacity by 2030, double the previous ambition.

This means the technology landscape for hydrogen continues to develop at pace and Government, industry and innovators all need to continue to pull in the same direction if they are to successfully unlock hydrogen's potential as a low carbon energy carrier.

Safety remains a critical success factor for the potential of hydrogen and this remains the key theme of 'Safe Net Zero 2023 - Hydrogen'.

Building upon the success of our three previous events, we're back with an exciting agenda offering the very latest information and thinking from those working to safely develop and deploy hydrogen technologies.

If you work in hydrogen, the opportunity for the cross-sector learning that this event provides is not to be missed.

There are also a limited number of event sponsorship opportunities available, if you're interested please email hsetraining@hse.gov.uk.

This year's event features:

  • Keynotes from government policy makers
  • A comprehensive agenda providing the latest updates on: Hydrogen for heat, production, distribution and storage, liquid fuels and systems and applications and infrastructure
