Floristry is a more traditional business in which the types and varieties of flowers and plants that are sold has increased over the last few decades. The handling of different varieties of plants is more likely to increase the risk of contact with skin irritants and allergens. Whilst there are fewer options for controlling exposure by using alternative plants, the basic principles of reducing risk by using protective gloves, and by looking after skin, can be applied across the board.
