COVID-19 update:

We are pleased to announce that we are resuming some of our testing services.

As you will understand, the health and safety of our employees continues to be our top priority.

In order for us to work in a COVID-secure way, we are currently operating at a reduced capacity, which means we cannot guarantee the usual turnaround times.

All testing will be completed as soon as possible, however we will keep you up to date with regular communications.

We appreciate that the coronavirus pandemic has been a difficult time for businesses and individuals alike and we thank you for your continued patience while we adjust to new ways of working.

Should you need to get in touch, the preferred means of contact is currently email at registration.sample@hse.gov.uk

We can help you to assess your control measures in protecting against exposure to both inorganic and organic chemicals within the workplace. We provide highly sensitive analytical methods for the analysis of a wide and diverse range of chemicals to levels to monitor concentrations of chemicals in air, liquids or solids.

Our assays enable you to demonstrate compliance with Great Britain's Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs, see EH40 for current list) and we are authors for the Methods for Determining Hazardous Substances (MDHS) guidance.

Our services cover the following areas:

Our full range of analyses are suitable for both personal/static air samples & wipe samples, catering for small & large batch sizes, with 15-day turnaround times for our routine assays. Where requested by the customer, HSL can also provide wipe kits, thermal desorption tubes and filters or pre-loaded IOM cassettes, with advice on sampling times and recommendations for transportation & storage.

For further information on specific tests or to discuss your  requirements in further detail, please contact Glen McConnachie
