From June 2015, new Control of Major Accident Hazards
(COMAH 2015) Regulations will come into force.
Will you be ready?
Arising out of the EU's Seveso III
Directive, the new COMAH 2015 Regulations mainly
affect the chemical and petrochemical industries, but
they also apply to any business that stores sufficient quantities
of dangerous substances.
HSL has launched a new service to help organisations determine
their COMAH status under the new Regulations, based on an
assessment of the chemicals used and stored on a site. As a part
of HSE, our links to the
regulator give us a unique understanding of hazardous workplaces
and their requirements.
We can help you assess all relevant data and give you peace of
mind that the Regulations have been interpreted correctly when
assessing the impact of chemicals in all three required areas:
- Physical hazards
The new classification means that - depending on the substances
handled - a site's COMAH status could change. It is your
company's responsibility to assess correctly and notify HSE of
the status of your sites.
HSL's world-class team of experts, led by Susan
Fraser and Jill Wilday, has helped the
Competent Authorities and their EU colleagues to understand the
scientific elements of SEVESO III. This expertise means
that you can be safe in the knowledge that your
classifications and notification to HSE are correct. Working with
us will save you time and resources, allowing you to
concentrate on your core business.
