HSL is to run a 1 day course on Stress Series: A Workshop for Employees on Managing your own Stress.

NB: This workshop can only be delivered in
businesses that have considered their approach to stress management
and have begun (or have an established) programme in place.
This 3 hour workshop to be delivered in-house will afford
employees an understanding of what stress is and will help them in
establishing relevant coping strategies for themselves and others
around them. Specifically the workshop will cover:
3 hour workshop exploring:
- What work-related stress
- What causes stress both at
work and at home
- How stress can manifest
itself , i.e. the signs and symptoms
- The known stress risk
factors, i.e. the 6 Management Standards
- A brief overview of the
organisation's approach to managing stress (to be co-delivered by
the organisation's stress champion or member of the senior
- Combatting stress - an
introduction to the different types of interventions that might be
used to tackle problems of work-related stress and consideration by
individuals as to practical ways by which they could manage their
own stress levels.
Post workshop group session (2 hours, maximum
10 per group)
- An interactive session to
explore pertinent issues of work-related stress within the group
and consideration of possible interventions (including primary and
secondary level interventions) that might be used to help alleviate
the identified issues of work-related stress. This session would
result in a summary of key problems of work-related stress
developed during the session to be taken forward and addressed by
the organisation's steering group responsible for managing stress
within the business.
