Introduction
This workshop will be delivered by a former HSE inspectors with
more than 25 years of experience and is a rare opportunity to
understand your regulator by seeing the world through an
inspector's eyes.
You will learn why, when and how HSE serves a Notification of
Contravention (NoC) triggering the Fee arrangements, how you can
influence that decision and choices for responding to a NoC.
The course will cover:
- The legal basis for HSE recovering costs under Fee for
Intervention
- How HSE inspectors form their judgement about whether there has
been a material breach - the factors that are taken into account
and how an inspector forms their opinion.
- An insight into how businesses can legitimately influence an
inspector in their decision to serve a Notice of Contravention
- Options for both formal and informal actions that are available
to a business receiving a NoC
Who should attend?
Health and safety professionals responsible for managing or
advising on the interface between businesses and the HSE.
Business owners or senior managers responsible for managing and
controlling risks. Anyone who might receive a Notification of

what action to take in response to breaches of health and safety
legislation.
