18 October 2018

Introduction

Revised EFSA Guidance on dermal absorption (2017) for plant protection products regulated under Regulation 1107/2009 will soon be finalised for use across the EU. In anticipation of this new EFSA Guidance, HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) will be holding a one day workshop to present and explain the guidance, which will supersede the previous EFSA Guidance document (2012).

The course will cover:

  • Overview of the new guidance document;
  • Key differences between the new and old guidance;
  • Critical aspects of dermal absorption studies and their interpretation;
  • Key information frequently absent from, or not clearly presented in, dermal absorption study reports and / or regulatory submissions;
  • Worked examples highlighting critical areas of the new guidance;
  • Common problems found in Dermal Absorption evaluations.
