CRD - Two Day Consumer Risk Assessment Workshop

Chemicals Regulation Division, Mallard House, Kings Pool, 3 Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PX

Please email your expression of interest

HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) is holding a two-day Consumer Risk Assessment workshop. The aim of the event will be to raise awareness, provide guidance in the appropriate use of residue values in risk assessment models, and highlight commonly encountered problems and topical issues in the field of residues evaluation and consumer risk assessment. A mixture of presentations and case studies (workshop style, for example using the PRIMo3 EFSA model for risk assessment) considered in an informal setting will be used to relay the information.

The course will cover:

  • Underlying principles of chronic and acute risk assessment calculations
  • Selection of residue values for risk assessment purposes, covering human dietary intakes and animal dietary burden assessment
  • Topical issues relevant to residues (e.g. residue definitions) and consumer risk assessment (e.g. variability and cumulative exposure)
  • Processing factors and refining risk assessments
  • Rotational crop scenarios for residues assessments
  • Combined risk assessment

Download the programme for the day here.

Given the nature of the workshop, places will be limited to a maximum of 16 delegates.

Who should attend?

The event will be targeted at technical and regulatory staff involved in the production and submission of residues data to HSE (CRD), and those performing consumer risk assessments to support authorisations. The workshop is tailored both to those relatively new to residues work and those wanting to refresh their understanding of the principles of the residues and consumer risk assessment; the programme also aims to provide HSE (CRD) views on current topics.

The event might also be of interest in those involved in risk assessments based on the results of post-approval residue monitoring, however such individuals are encouraged to discuss their interest in attending with HSE (CRD) in the first instance, prior to booking.

The workshop will be held at the Chemicals Regulation Division, Mallard House, Kings Pool, 3 Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PX. Registration will begin from 9:00 am. The workshop will start at 9:30 am on day one and finish around 4:30 pm on day two.

The cost of this course is £670 (plus VAT) per person (includes course notes, lunch and refreshments)

Please note that all courses must be paid for via credit card at the time of booking.
