CRD - Live Online Workshop: Dermal Absorption and the EFSA 2017 Guidance for Plant Protection and Biocidal Products
The EFSA Guidance on dermal absorption (2017) for plant
protection products regulated under Regulation 1107/2009 was
implemented on the 25th of August 2018. The guidance has
also been applied to Biocidal Products since 6th March
2020. HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) will be holding a
two-day online workshop to present and explain the EFSA 2017
guidance, which replaced the previous EFSA Guidance document
(2012). This workshop will address dermal absorption issues for
both plant protection products (day 1 and part of day 2) and
biocidal products (day 2).
The course will cover:
- Overview of the 2017 guidance document
- Critical aspects of dermal absorption studies and their
- Key differences between the 2017 and 2012 guidance
- Key information frequently absent from, or not clearly
presented in, dermal absorption study reports and / or regulatory
- Worked examples highlighting critical areas of the 2017
- Common problems found in dermal absorption evaluations
- Application of the guidance to Biocidal Products
- Special cases for Biocidal Products including antifouling
products and anticoagulant rodenticides

Who should attend?
The workshop is aimed at technical and registration specialists
involved in the design of dermal absorption studies and in the
preparation and submission to CRD of plant protection and biocidal
product applications for authorisation. The aim is to provide
awareness, knowledge and interactive discussion via presentations,
questions/answers, and practical sessions.
Live Online Course Information
All you will need is an internet-connected computer, laptop or
tablet, plus a webcam and microphone. We do not recommend using a
smartphone. Before you book, please check that you meet the Zoom

The cost of this course is £465 (plus VAT) per person.
