HSE's Chemicals Regulation Division (CRD) is running a one-day
workshop providing introductory training on the data requirements
and other relevant aspects for the UK authorisation of plant
protection products. The workshop will focus on the identity,
physicochemical properties, and methods of analysis under
Regulation EC 1107/2009. Training will be delivered by an
experienced team of Regulatory Chemists.
The workshop is aimed at those new to the production and
submission of chemistry data in support of plant protection
The event will cover legislation and data requirements
supporting Regulation EC 1107/2009, with a focus on the
requirements needed to support product authorisation in the UK,
including the guidance document produced by CRD for the generation
of data on the physical, chemical and technical properties of plant
protection products under Regulation EC 1107/2009. The event will
also cover requirements for methods of analysis and provide an
update on the latest methods guidance documents. Training will be
supported by workshop sessions throughout the day.
The course will cover:
- Overview of the data requirements for plant protection
- Classification and Labelling;
- Guidance on the generation of data on the physical, chemical
and technical properties of plant protection products under
Regulation EC 1107/2009;
- Methods of analysis, requirements and guidance;
- Key regulatory changes and future developments.

Who should attend?
The event is specifically designed for technical and regulatory
staff involved in the production and submission of data in support
of plant protection product applications to CRD. It will be of most
benefit to those new to the area.
Given the nature of the workshop, places will be limited to a
maximum of 16 delegates.
The workshop will be held at the Chemicals Regulation Division,
Mallard House, Kings Pool, 3 Peasholme Green, York YO1 7PX.
Registration will begin from 9:00 am. The workshop will start at
9:30 am and finish around 4:30 pm.
The cost of this course is £455 (plus VAT) per person (includes
course notes, lunch and refreshments)
