This workshop aims to take participants through a first-tier
risk assessment for zonal product authorisations and UK National
authorisations, identifying the approaches that applicants need to
follow to obtain product authorisation under Regulation
The course will cover:
The day will be a mixture of presentations and practical
workshops and will be given by members of CRD's Regulatory Science
Group directly involved in the registration process.
- Active substance and plant protection product data
- First tier bird and mammal risk assessment according to
EFSA Bird and Mammal Guidance Document (2009)
- EU aquatic risk assessment (FOCUS up to Step 3) and UK
aquatic risk assessment (via spray drift and drainflow
- First tier bee and other non-target arthropod risk
- First tier earthworm and soil macro- and micro-organisms
- First tier non-target terrestrial plants risk
- UK risk mitigation options

Who should attend?
The event will be specifically designed for registration
specialists involved in the preparation and submission of Plant
Protection Products dossiers to CRD.
The workshop will be held at the Chemicals Regulation
Directorate, Mallard House, Kings Pool, 3 Peasholme Green, York YO1
7PX. Registration will begin from 9:00 am. The workshops will start
at 9:30 am and finish around 5:00 pm.
The cost of this course is £475 (plus VAT) per person
(includes course notes, lunch and refreshments)
