Meet the CWH team

CWH is made up of a multidisciplinary team which comprises of HSE staff (occupational scientists, occupational physicians, occupational research nurse) but also doctors and nurses working within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Chris Barber; Consultant Respiratory Physician and Senior Medical Adviser Chris.barber@hse.gov.uk,  0203 028 1899. Work is split between clinical sessions at the Northern General Hospital (Sheffield) and CWH, HSE (Buxton). Practical, clinical advice and skills in the following areas: occupational respiratory disease and interstitial lung disease, epidemiology, qualitative research, physiology and delivery of postgraduate education.

Lisa Bradshaw; Clinical Nurse Specialist in Respiratory Medicine at the Northern General Hospital (Sheffield) and Senior Research Nurse at CWH, HSE (Buxton) lisa.bradshaw@hse.gov.uk 0203 028 1907. Practical, clinical advice and skills in the following areas: occupational respiratory disease, epidemiology, qualitative Research, physiology and social research.

David Fishwick; Consultant Respiratory Physician, Chief Medical Adviser and Co-Director of CWH at HSE (Buxton)  david.fishwick@hse.gov.uk 0203 208 1925. Practical, clinical advice and skills in the following areas: occupational respiratory disease, epidemiology, qualitative research, physiology. Chief Medical Adviser for HSE and GMC Responsible Officer for HSE.

Jon Poole; Consultant Occupational Physician at the Northern General Hospital (Sheffield) and CWH at HSE (Buxton), jon.poole@hse.gov.uk, 0203 028 1888. All clinical areas of occupational health to include Tier 5 testing for hand-arm vibration syndrome. Current research interests include HAVS, health of compost workers and the psychodynamics of occupational medicine consultation.

Edward Robinson; Occupational Research Scientist, CWH at HSE (Buxton), Edward.robinson@hse.gov.uk, 0203 028 1947. Practical clinical advice and skills in the following areas: quantative and qualitative assessment of occupational ill-health and international occupational health liasion (WHO and PEROSH). HSE's Ethics Officer.

Jade Sumner; Occupational Research Scientist, CWH at HSE (Buxton), jade.sumner@hse.gov.uk, 0203 028 2001. Practical clinical advice and skills in the following areas: Workplace clinical assessments and data handling, HAVS, spirometry/quality of testing, providing training in lung function testing and an interest in occupational respiratory disease.
