After graduating in aeronautical engineering, Keith Moodie has
spent most of his career working in fire and process safety
research. He is currently the Business and Technical Development
Manager for the Major Hazards Unit, having held a number
senior positions within HSL.
Keith has many years' experience leading and undertaking
research in the area of fires and explosions, especially fire
dynamics, computational fluid dynamic modelling of fires and
dynamic structural analysis. He has also undertaken numerous major
accident investigations on behalf of HSE.
During his 40+ year career, Keith has published extensively in
the scientific literature and also holds two patents. He has made
numerous presentations at national and international meetings and
was awarded Donald Julius Groen Prize for Environmental
Engineering by the Institute of Mechanical Engineers.
Keith's current research interests include the use of
high-hydrogen fuels, particularly in stationary gas turbines.
