Careers - Explosion Safety

Explosion Safety is concerned with all aspects of explosion safety including explosives, propellants, pyrotechnics, gas and dust explosions and their ignition, and other energetic physical phenomena such as molten metal-water explosions. In addition the Unit also provides services in the areas of control and instrumentation and gas appliance safety. The Unit has an international reputation collaborating with organisations around the world. The type of work includes theoretical assessment, laboratory and large scale testing, incident investigation, guidance, research & consultancy.

We are specifically interested in people with experience and skills in the areas of explosives (including propellants & pyrotechnics), combustion, engineering (chemical/process/electrical/mechanical) and control and instrumentation, or graduates with degrees in engineering, physics or chemistry.
