HSL seeks to publish the results of its work where appropriate, and publishes about 60 papers a year in the peer-reviewed scientific press and conference proceedings. Papers appear in over 90 different journals covering a diverse range of subjects.

Methods for the Determination of Hazardous Substances

Methods for the Determination of Hazardous Substances (MDHS) is a series published by HSE Books that describes procedures for the measurement of personnel exposure to contaminants in air.

Committee on Analytical Requirements

The Committee on Analytical Requirements (CAR) comprises occupational hygienists and other stakeholders from HSL, external agencies and industry. Its aim is to identify new or improved tools to assess exposure to harmful substances in the workplace and disseminate information to potential users.

The Difusive Monitor

HSL edits The Diffusive Monitor newsletter, which is a free publication of the Health and Safety Executive CAR Committee (Committee of Analytical Requirements), Working Group 5. This Working Group is concerned with workplace and environmental applications of diffusive sampling for assessing air quality.
