COMAH Remodelling
HSL is to run a 1 day course on COMAH Remodelling.
2 October 2012
Introduction
The COMAH Competent Authority (HSE, the Environment Agency and
the Scottish Environment Protection Agency) changed the way in
which it organises and implements the COMAH (Control of Major
Accident Hazard) Regulations from 1 April 2010. This was the
culmination of a two year project to increase the efficiency of
regulation under COMAH. The regulations have not changed but the
implementation has.
This course provides an overview of the changes, particularly in
terms of how they effect duty-holders and what the COMAH Competent
Authority is now looking for. It will be delivered by HSL staff who
have been involved in the COMAH Remodelling project and who have
trained COMAH Competent Authority staff in the changes.
The course will cover:
- The background to the changes and what the COMAH Competent
Authority hopes to achieve from them
- An understanding of what has changed in the areas of safety
reports, inspections, investigations and enforcement
- The new performance rating system for sites
- What the changes mean for COMAH duty-holders
- Feedback received on the changes so far
- A brief preview of the proposals for the Seveso III
Directive
Who should attend?
Safety professionals and managers who are involved in the
writing and updating of COMAH safety reports or dealing with the
