HSL lead a project in World Health Organisation Activity Area 6
(WHO AA6) Communication and Networking entitled "Nano-Comms: A
Technical Observatory for the dissemination of information
regarding nanoparticle health and safety issues".
The HSL project leader is Dr Rosemary Gibson.
Key collaborators on this project, who have also submitted
projects on nanoparticles in AA6, are:
- Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) in
Germany,
- Institute for Occupational Health Sciences in Switzerland
and
- National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH)
in the USA.
In close collaboration with these partners, HSL plans to build on
its network of international experts in the field of health and
safety of handling nanoparticles in the workplace, and to develop a
portal for the collection and sharing of information on the health
and safety of nanoparticles.
