Eddie Morland joined the Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) as
Chief Executive in October 2005. He was formerly Chief Executive of
AEA Rail, a £90m turnover, private sector science and engineering
business, incorporating the former British and Dutch Rail Research
organisations. He began his career as a research scientist
working on the nuclear programme for the United Kingdom Atomic
Energy Authority. After the formation of AEA Technology,
Eddie's career broadened into senior roles in commercial and
operations management. He has worked in power generation, oil
and gas and defence sectors and most recently the transport
sector. Eddie has a first Class Honours degree in Physics, a
Masters degree in Management Science and is a Fellow of the Institute of
Physics.
